Coronavirus

Preventative care starts with following the government's advice on social distancing, lockdown rules, wearing face masks and hand washing but is there more we can do to help ourselves?.

As we are still in the very early days of this virus there is little robust evidence behind supplements and herbs but certainly very promising research papers that have been published showing how these can help to prevent, protect and treat coronavirus.

Of course, until clinical trials have been done, nothing can be claimed to be efficacious. But there are many very safe supplements available and it is only natural for people to want to protect themselves better. So we have tried to pull together some sensible guidance and also access to journal papers so that people can investigate good research for themselves.

Importantly, if you think that you may have been exposed to COVID-19 or have symptoms, please follow the national guidelines, get tested, self-isolate and contact your doctor or the NHS helpline. You can also make an appointment to speak to a qualified medical herbalist (online) for guidance from one of our clinics.

You may also find that herbal medicine can help you to make a better recover if, post-COVID19, you are suffering 'long COVID' symptoms. Our herbalists have a lot of experience in managing the long term effects of tick-borne diseases and chronic fatigue syndromes.
