Nutritional Therapy aims to change an individual's metabolism from an unbalanced state which may be causing minor or distressing symptoms and which may ultimately lead to a diagnosable disease to a state of balance, allowing the body to return to optimum health. The process takes the form of a one-on-one consultation between client and therapist.

What to Expect

The first consultation may take up to 1 hour and will usually include taking a detailed history of health problems, medical and family history, plus diet and lifestyle factors. The client may be asked to fill in a questionnaire prior to consultation and to seek medical advice to eliminate underlying disease.

A nutritional assessment is then made, sometimes with the help of a questionnaire and appropriate laboratory tests, and dietary and lifestyle changes will be recommended, often supported by nutritional supplements based on individual needs and circumstances.

Through regular consultations and adjustments to the nutritional program, the aim is to work in a series of stages to nourish and support the body's innate healing processes with the aim of achieving an optimum state of health for the individual.
