What is Endometriosis?
Endometriosis happens when tissue similar to the lining of the womb grows in other parts of the body — most commonly the ovaries, fallopian tubes and the tissue lining the pelvis. Each month, just like the womb lining, this tissue responds to hormonal signals: it builds up, breaks down, and has nowhere to go. The result is inflammation, scar tissue, and often, significant pain.
The condition can affect energy, mood, digestion, fertility, menstrual cycles and quality of life in profound and far-reaching ways — yet it remains one of the most under-recognised conditions in women's healthcare.
The All-Party Parliamentary Group (APPG) on Endometriosis Inquiry Report 2020, surveyed 10,783 endometriosis sufferers and found it takes eight years on average to receive a diagnosis — and that this delay had not improved in over a decade.

What this webinar will cover:
In this session, Functional Herbalist Alyssa Dalos will explore what may be happening in the body with endometriosis, and how a holistic, root-cause approach can work alongside conventional care — not instead of it. Whether you've just received a diagnosis, have been living with endometriosis for years, or simply suspect it might be behind changes you've noticed in your body, this session is designed with you in mind.
How it works: a clear overview of the hormonal and immune mechanisms involved in endometriosis, including oestrogen dominance, inflammation and the menstrual cycle.
How it develops: what drives the progression of endometriosis, why symptoms can be so wide-ranging and individual, and why it so often goes unrecognised for years.
How support may help: the foundations of Alyssa's clinical approach, including Western herbal medicine, functional medicine insights, nutrition and movement.
Real-life patterns: how pain, fatigue, digestive symptoms, mood changes, fertility concerns and menstrual irregularities may all connect back to endometriosis.
Working with your team: how holistic endometriosis care can complement GP or specialist treatment, rather than replace it.
The live session will also include time for audience questions, allowing attendees to explore practical next steps.
Please note: the Q&A is for general educational information only. We cannot diagnose, treat, prescribe, or provide personalised medical advice. Questions about an individual's medical history, symptoms, medications, test results, or treatment plan should be discussed with your herbalist or medical professional.
Who this webinar is for
This session is intended for people living with, or strongly suspecting, endometriosis, as well as those wanting to understand their hormonal and reproductive health in the context of complex, long-standing symptoms.
- You have a diagnosis of endometriosis, or have been told your symptoms are "unexplained" or "just normal periods" — and something still doesn't feel right.
- You experience pelvic pain, heavy or irregular periods, fatigue, digestive issues, low mood or fertility concerns that have never fully resolved.
About Alyssa Dalos, Functional Herbalist
Alyssa is a Functional Herbalist, qualified in 2019, who supports women and LGBTQIA+ people living with complex, long-standing health concerns. With five years of clinical experience, she blends Western herbal medicine, functional medicine, nutrition and movement to offer thoughtful, sustained care that addresses root causes and builds lasting resilience.
She specialises in autoimmune conditions such as hypothyroidism and coeliac disease, female reproductive health including PMOS (formerly known as PCOS), endometriosis and PMDD, and chronic issues such as pain, IBS, constipation and reflux. She works particularly well with patients who feel unheard or stuck in cycles of symptoms that never quite resolve.
Alyssa’s approach is both evidence-informed and deeply holistic. She honours the lineage of traditional herbalism while engaging critically with modern healthcare, holding that good medicine is compassionate, contextual, and conscious of the wider systems we all live within. Her aim is to help patients uncover what “healthy” truly means for them — and to support the steady, practical habit changes required to get there.
What you will take away
By the end of the webinar, you will have a clearer picture of what endometriosis is, how it develops, and why its effects so often extend far beyond the reproductive system.
- A grounded understanding of the hormonal, immune and inflammatory drivers of endometriosis, explained in plain language.
- Insight into how digestive, nervous system and overall hormonal health intersect with endometriosis symptoms.
- An overview of how herbal medicine, nutrition, movement and lifestyle approaches may be integrated alongside standard medical care.
The session is educational rather than prescriptive: specific treatment recommendations can only be made in individual consultations, but this webinar aims to help you better understand the landscape so that future choices feel more informed.
