How to Use Napies Shingles Oil

Apply a small amount of oil to clean, dry skin and massage in gently with light circular strokes. Use once or twice daily, to maintain skin softness and comfort. For external use only.

Ingredients

Helianthus anuus seed oil, Hypericum perforatum (St johns wort) flowers, Symphytum officinale (Comfrey) leaf, Citrus bergamia (bergamont) essential oil, Anthemis nobilis (roman chamomile) essential oil, limonene, linalool, gernoi, citronellol, citral.

Keep out of reach of children. Avoid contact with eyes and mucous membranes. Do not apply to broken or irritated skin. Discontinue use if irritation occurs. Not suitable during pregnancy unless advised by a health professional due to essential oil content. Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight.

Recovering from shingles.

I tried using the oil, and found that it increased the sensitivity of the whole affected area. By the evening it was hot and inflamed, and sorer than ever. I stopped using it, thinking that perhaps it was because the scabs had not completely gone from the rash.
After a week, scabs healed, I tried again and found it had exactly the same effect. It seems to take at least 12 hours till the area is back to a normal state of soreness.
The oil smells nice, and my hands have benefited, but is made my shingles pain worse.

I now have Bells Palsy which can be caused by the herpes virus (like shingles). I have rubbed the oil behind my ear as the nerve pressure was so bad.
