Celebrating Heritage with Highland Bog Myrtle

At the heart of Bugbuster is Highland Bog Myrtle (Myrica gale), a hardy Scottish shrub long prized for its natural insect-repelling qualities. Known locally as a traditional remedy against midges, bog myrtle is disliked by many biting insects, making it the perfect foundation for this protective outdoor cream.

This Carolean Edition honours King Charles III’s love of the Scottish Highlands while celebrating Napiers’ own heritage in plant-based skincare.

Effective Natural Insect Defence

Bugbuster is designed for those who want protection from insects without harsh chemical repellents. Its unique botanical blend includes citronella, eucalyptus, lavender and peppermint oils, all known for their natural ability to deter biting insects such as midges and mosquitoes.

Unlike sprays, this cream is easy to apply directly to exposed skin and offers both insect protection and moisturising care.

Ideal for camping, hiking, festivals, gardening, or evenings in the garden, Bugbuster is best applied to exposed areas such as arms, legs and neck. It is especially effective at dusk when insects are most active, providing both reliable protection and soothing comfort.

Moisturises and Refreshes the Skin

Formulated with aloe vera, jojoba, coconut and almond oils, Bugbuster not only defends against insects but also hydrates the skin, leaving it soft and comfortable. The addition of peppermint oil provides a natural cooling sensation, making it especially refreshing during warm evenings outdoors.

How to Use Napiers Bugbuster Cream

Apply generously to exposed areas of skin, including arms, legs and neck, before heading outdoors. Reapply every few hours, particularly in the evening or when insects are more active.

The cream doubles as a skin moisturiser, so it is comfortable to wear for long periods during outdoor activities.

Worked well for me.

I tried this on a recent (August) trip to Scotland and it worked very well. I didn't put it in my hair but should have worn a hat to be fully protected. Smell much more pleasant than the plastic-melting alternatives and it soaked in to my skin quite quickly after a liberal application. I would recommend.

Love this cream!

Love this cream! I used to suffer badly with horse fly bites, but this cream is perfect for keeping them away. It smells great too, so nice to wear even if the bugs are not biting!

I bought this after I had been bitten by bugs on an evening out by the river.

Lovely lemon scent smooth creamy textured cream.

Been using in the evening, no bites since.
For a person who always gets bitten on holidays especially abroad by mosquitoes I am looking forward to bite free holidays.

Will repurchase.
Thank you
