Bliss!

I bought a small 30 ml pot of this cream and I have been using it on my 68-year-old face. Wow! It is so wonderful and whether or not is supposed to be used as a face cream or not, I am hooked. I WILL be back for more.

Goatmilk & Starflower Cream: First Impressions

I’ve always struggled with dry skin and have never really found a product I’ve loved. A friend recommended the Goatmilk and Starflower Cream, and although it’s still early days, so far so good. I love the smell and the way it feels on my skin.

LT - Napiers Customer - Gifted Product For Honest Review

By way of background – I have used starflower cream for years. I always have a pot to hand. (When you got in touch to ask me to try your new cream, I was in South Africa – I even had a pot in my wash bag!) I buy it for friends who complain of dry skin, especially in the winter. So – my assessment of your goat milk and starflower should be seen in that context – I already had a “favourite” cream and used it daily! I mention this only because I suspect folk who are not in the habit of using a good cream will notice more of a difference than someone like me, who uses a good cream daily.

All that said, I have really enjoyed your goat milk and starflower cream. It is silkier in texture than the regular starflower cream, more of a lotion than a thick cream. I love the smell. It transports me back to my childhood. My dad used to restore vintage cars. It was my job to polish the chrome work – using a chamois leather, which of course is a soft goat leather. The cream has a similar smell! I don’t like anything with overpowering fragrance but it is nice and light and very natural.

As for my skin – as I say, I am in the habit of using a good cream, always on my hands and feet at bed time, and during the day if my skin feels dry. I’ve been doing the same with the goat milk and starflower cream. It soaks in quickly and is as effective as the regular starflower cream. I would find it hard to say one is better than the other. What I can say is that I often get very dry, chapped skin at this time of year (even though I use cream – down to cold weather and central heating, I think), and that hasn’t been a problem so far this year. So perhaps it is working its magic.

It’s a lovely product to use, thank you for asking me to trial it.

Yes — for those whose hands are frequently washed or exposed to drying conditions, consistent use can help keep skin soft and comfortable.

Goat Milk and Starflower Cream contains borage oil just like our original cream but the key difference it that is also contains Goat Milk. Goat’s milk is valued in skincare for its naturally creamy texture and nourishing lipids, helping skin feel softer and more comfortable. Goat's milk contains a unique profile of fatty acids, including medium‑chain triglycerides, that closely resemble the structure of human skin lipids. This makes goat‑milk‑based creams particularly gentle and compatible with sensitive or eczema‑prone skin, as they support rather than disrupt the skin's natural balance.

Together, with borage oil it creates a deeply nurturing base that helps relieve dryness and restore comfort to skin that is dry, very dry or sensitive. This cream is especially suited to skin that needs comfort and lasting moisture.

It closely mirrors your skin's own chemistry. Unlike many synthetic alternatives, goat's milk shares a similar pH to human skin, meaning it works with your skin's natural protective barrier rather than disrupting it, making it far less likely to cause irritation or upset the skin's delicate microbiome.

Borage oil is a plant-derived oil pressed from the seeds of the borage plant (Borago officinalis), also known as starflower — which is where the "starflower oil" name comes from. They are the same thing.

Its big claim to fame in skincare is its exceptionally high content of gamma-linolenic acid (GLA) — an omega-6 fatty acid that the body uses to maintain healthy skin cell membranes. It's one of the richest plant sources of GLA available, higher even than evening primrose oil, which is better known.

GLA plays a direct role in the skin's ability to hold onto moisture. When skin is deficient in it, the cell walls weaken, moisture escapes more easily, and you get the tightness, flaking and irritation associated with dry or eczema-prone skin. Applying borage oil topically helps replenish those lipids from the outside in, supporting barrier repair and reducing moisture loss over time.

Yes, Napiers Goat Milk & Starflower Cream is suitable for those aged 6 years and above. For children under 6 years we recommend our Baby Starflower Cream.
