How to Use Essential Oils

Essential oils are highly concentrated plant extracts and should always be used with care.

They must be diluted before applying to the skin and never ingested.

Diffusers & Vaporisers:
Add 4–6 drops of essential oil to water in your diffuser or vaporiser to fill your space with natural aroma. This method is ideal for creating a calming, uplifting, or refreshing atmosphere depending on the oil used.

Massage:
Dilute up to 5 drops of essential oil in 10ml of a carrier oil (such as jojoba, sweet almond, or grapeseed). Apply the blend to the skin with gentle massage movements. This method is often used for relaxation, skin conditioning, or to complement aromatherapy treatments.

Baths:
Dilute up to 4 drops of essential oil in a tablespoon of carrier oil or fragrance-free bath base before adding to warm bath water. This helps the oil disperse evenly and avoids skin sensitivity from undiluted contact.

Inhalation:
Add 1–2 drops of essential oil to a bowl of hot water, cover your head with a towel, and inhale the steam for several minutes. Keep eyes closed during inhalation to avoid irritation.

Room Sprays:

Mix 10–15 drops of essential oil in 100ml of distilled water with a dispersing agent (such as witch hazel or alcohol). Shake well before use and spray lightly into the air or onto fabrics (patch test first).

Blends:
Combine essential oils to create your own signature aromas. Some oils blend well for seasonal scents, while others work beautifully in functional blends for home fragrance or spa-style rituals.

Relaxing and refreshing for the anxious mind

Very good oil, its smell is strong and as I’m anxiety I use this and it’s been very helpful especially in the night. I bought the 30ml and it’s lasted me around 2-3months I put 2 drops on my chest and another 2 on my pillow as I love the extra aroma. It’s natural and I find it much better smelling and effective than any other lavender essential oils. It’s worth the money when u use small quantities at a time. 💜

Frequently asked questions

Aromatherapy is a holistic healing treatment that uses natural plant extracts, primarily essential oils, to promote health and well-being. It works through the sense of smell and skin absorption using products like aromatic diffusers, inhalers, bathing salts, body oils, creams, and lotions.

Aromatherapy oils can be used in several ways:

  • - Diffusing: Add a few drops of the oil to water in a diffuser to spread the aroma through the air.
  • - Inhalation: Inhale directly from the bottle or a cloth sprinkled with a few drops.
  • - Topical application: Dilute with a carrier oil and apply to the skin during massages or as part of your skincare routine.
  • - Baths: Add a few drops to a warm bath for a relaxing experience.
Yes, Napiers is committed to providing only the highest quality, 100% pure, and natural aromatherapy oils. We source our oils from reputable producers and conduct thorough testing to ensure their purity and potency.
Essential oils are highly concentrated and should generally not be applied directly to the skin without being diluted in a carrier oil, such as coconut, jojoba, or almond oil, to prevent skin irritation or adverse reactions.
To maintain their efficacy, store aromatherapy oils in a cool, dark place away from direct sunlight and heat sources. Keeping them in their original amber glass bottles can also help protect them from light degradation.

Aromatherapy oils can offer a variety of health benefits, including:

  • - Relieving stress and anxiety
  • - Improving sleep quality
  • - Reducing inflammation and pain
  • - Enhancing mood and cognitive function
  • -Supporting respiratory health
While many people can benefit from aromatherapy, some oils may trigger allergic reactions or are not recommended for pregnant women, children, or those with certain health conditions. It is always advisable to consult with a healthcare provider before starting any new treatment, especially if you have existing health issues or concerns.
Choosing the right oil depends on the benefits you’re seeking. For relaxation, lavender or chamomile might be beneficial. For a mood boost, consider citrus oils like orange or grapefruit. For cognitive clarity, peppermint or eucalyptus are excellent choices. You can also combine oils to create a custom blend that meets your specific needs.
Yes, aromatherapy oils do have a shelf life, which can vary depending on the oil’s chemical composition. Citrus oils typically last about 1-2 years, while more stable oils like sandalwood can last up to 6 years. Always check the expiration date and look for changes in colour, consistency, or smell to determine if an oil is still good to use.
