Seaweed granules in a resealable pouch to add to smoothies and seasonings. These granules are from the species Ascophyllum nodosum which is also known as Norwegian kelp, eggwrack. It is a Seagreens® quality ingredient harvested in the Outer Hebrides of Scotland from a certified organic source.
Directions: Add a quarter to half a teaspoon to a juice or a smoothie, a stock or a soup, to your taste. You can also put the granules into a salt grinder with rock salt, or sprinkle it over your food.
Please note: A teaspoon will hold approximately one gram of granules. One gram contains 700 mcg of chelated iodine. The UK government recommends a limit of 1000 mcg of iodine a day (approximately 1.5 teaspoons). The Japanese government recommends that no more than 3000 mcg should be consumed. This is because very large amounts of iodine can cause thyroid problems in susceptible individuals. Read more about iodine intake here.
