Tinctured Herbal Extracts

An extract, also called a tincture or essence, is an extract of plant material in alcohol. They are used in making cosmetics, making your own herbal blends, for adding to drinks and in food recipes. Herbs can be either culinary, cosmetic or medicinal. Categorising them is not easy to define this as many herbs have both food, cosmetic and medicinal uses, with only the strength of the dose to differentiate the purpose. If you intend to treat an illness please contact a herbalist. Many prescription medications cannot be taken with herb or food products. Please ask if you are unsure.
