Drink Yourself Clean
Toxicity appears to be a significant factor in an escalating wave of chronic disease. Toxins are everywhere – in our food, in our water, in the air, in the medications we take, in the products we use to clean ourselves and our homes. We can help ourselves with juices.
Charlotte Gerson from the Gerson Institute said that all chronic diseases are caused by Toxicity and Deficiency.
The solution is to remove the toxins, clean up your body and increase nutrient density of your healthy food. Fruits, berries and vegetables are “live” foods (provided they have not been heavily processed) They contain phytochemicals that your body uses to nourish and heal your cells.
The appeal of juicing is that you can consume more nutrient dense vegetables than when you eat them whole or if you blend them. Therefore this allows you to take in far greater amounts of vegetable nutrients than you would normally eat whole or blended.
Fresh live juices are like receiving an infusion of vitamins, minerals and enzymes intravenously because they go straight into your body with no break down requirement. It is like “mainlining” live nutrients and therefore produces rapid and profound health benefit.
Cherie Calbom, known as 'the Juice Lady', states “We should be juicing because so many people have impaired digestive tracts, and digestion is impaired because of the diet we've been on. Along come your beautiful juices; they go right into your intestinal tract, and those nutrients get absorbed into your system."
Some other reasons to juice:
Juicing boosts the immune system. Raw juices supercharge the immune system with rich phytochemicals, and antioxidants that revitalise the body. The nutrients feed good bacteria which help to suppress potentially pathogenic bacteria.
Juicing increases energy. Because the blood becomes flooded with nutrients and the PH is at optimum, you feel energised. Because juice is absorbed and utilised by the body rapidly, an instantaneous kick of energy is reported.
Juicing supports your brain. The Kame project showed that people who have juices more than 3 times a week were less likely to develop Alzheimer’s disease than those who consumed juice less than once a week.
Patricia and Angela would suggest incorporating the juicing suggested in the Equitox into your daily routine when you return to normal eating.
