ABOUT MALGORZATA

Malgorzata's journey on becoming a naturopath began while she was working on her book on witchcraft trials in 16th - 18th centuries. At that time, Malgorzata had a chance to read the original editions of herbals from the 16th and 17th centuries, full of unique information about plants, herbs, and flowers. This has developed into a lifelong passion.

Eventually, Malgorzata found her calling in being both a nutritional therapist and herbalist, creating effective herbal, nutrition and lifestyle choices programs. It is her joy to help people improve their health using herbal medicine, whole-food nutrition, supplements, cupping and manual therapies.

WHAT TO EXPECT DURING A NATUROPATHIC CONSULTATION

The first consultation takes approximately 60 minutes. Malgorzata will take a detailed medical history covering symptoms, medications, diet and lifestyle to discover the root cause of body imbalances.

Action point program is often focused of maximizing mindset, quality nutrition, nerve supply, and detoxification to help the body do its job as it’s the body that is still responsible to treat and heal itself, regardless of whether invasive or natural approach is used. Malgorzata will also formulate a mix of individually tailored herbs that suit your needs.

A follow up consultation 4 weeks later will last approximately 30 minutes. If you need further consultations, visits are generally at 4-6 week intervals.

Margaret Fraser

Margaret Fraser

Nutritional Therapy Dip CNM, BSc (Hons), mBANT, mANP, mGNC (Assoc), CNHC.

Margaret practices Naturopathic Nutritional Therapy at Napiers Edinburgh.

During the latter part of a career in Finance, I became increasingly aware of my desire to follow a more fulfilling path, one where I could positively influence the lives of others. My growing awareness of and increasing interest in the impact of diet and lifestyle on physical and mental wellbeing, led me towards The College of Naturopathic Nutrition and a Diploma in Naturopathic Nutrition. I approached the course with great enthusiasm and graduated with distinction.

My previous studies in biochemistry provided an understanding of the physiological reactions and interactions taking place within the body as it constantly strives to maintain balance and equilibrium. My training as a Naturopathic Nutritionist added a holistic dimension to optimising health, effectively bringing together the interplay between diet, lifestyle and our environment. Assessing the whole person and their environment is an essential step towards identifying impactful changes, designed to restore balance. As we are all unique, the health journey for each individual is likely to be different.

Looking around me, I am acutely aware that the pressures of modern day life leave even the most organised of individuals little time to nourish body and mind. The importance of what and how we eat has faded and carving out time for restorative activities such as exercise or self-care mostly viewed as a luxury.
My aim therefore, is to educate clients so they can make informed choices about the food they eat and the way they live their lives, allowing them to implement lasting changes and achieve their ultimate health goals.

APPROACH TO TREATMENT

Understanding your aims and your health journey to date facilitates the identification of potential nutritional imbalances and their root cause. Addressing both cause and effect drives a personalised nutrition approach, with dietary and lifestyle plans tailored to support your individual wellbeing.

Whether you arrive in clinic with aspirations of improving your overall health or aim to focus on specific health concerns, I will work with you to identify achievable, strategic changes to support your needs.

MY CLIENTS

I work with a range of health conditions with a special interest in:
- type 2 diabetes;
- weight management;
- stress, anxiety and low mood;
- menopausal symptoms.

WHAT TO EXPECT

Initial appointments last between 60-90 minutes during which I will complete a thorough review of your case. I will prepare a detailed nutritional and lifestyle plan supported by scientific evidence. Where beneficial, I will suggest supplements and may recommend functional testing or tests from your GP.

Follow up appointments last 60 minutes and usually take place 4 weeks after an initial appointment. We will use this time to catch up on your progress and revise the plan to keep moving you forward. Packages can be arranged if you prefer to book a series of appointments.

I had been in the fashion industry for 20+ years and always felt there was a deeper and more meaningful aspect to life. This prompted me to embark on learning and understanding about nutrition and the effects that it has on the mind, body and spirit. The stresses of modern life, which I experienced in my previous role, have motivated me to support people holistically through naturopathy and nutrition. I am passionate about helping people take control of their health and wellbeing.
