I have always had a keen interest in skin anatomy and how it can indicate deeper issues to us, mostly I like to look at how our diet influences our skin and how supplements, if needed, can enhance our general skin health further. It is so easy to overlook your own skin routine and I am here to help figure out where exactly it is all going wrong and/or right in regards to your overall skin routine. I enjoy personalising skin routines as most people fail to realise that their skin will not necessarily react the same as someone else's who has a similar skin type because the skin is wonderfully unique.
My own skin was extremely up and down growing up. I had slight adult acne to severe seborrheic dermatitis and still suffer from frequent outbreaks of eczema, particularly around my eyes and mouth. Having no breakthroughs through the use of anti-fungal tablets, antibiotics and prescribed steroid ointments for my face I decided to look at it from a holistic approach and have since found out my own ways of healing and controlling my skin, simply through my diet and use of supplements when needed. I am a huge advocate for The Anti-Inflammatory Diet and strongly believe that internal stress is a huge factor to skin mishaps.
I coincided work with my own private study doing an Advanced Diploma in Nutrition and Weight Management (part-time) in order to further my knowledge.
In terms of treatments, I work with two different companies. They are Dr. Hauschka and the Guinot Institute, both incredibly different and both very effective.
Guinot are plant-based and incorporate an electrical current in order to push the serums used deep into the epidermis. This suits all skin types including active acne and highly sensitive skin.
Dr. Hauschka has a very holistic approach that aims to treat our well-being as well as our skin health. Through extensive training at their headquarters, I am now a qualified Dr. Hauschka esthetician who is trained to understand the skin differently. I look to building a lasting relationship with my clients and their long-term health.
